Christian Counselor (Non-Clinical) | Educational Therapist | Author & Editor
Kaitlyn the writer...I've wanted to be a writer since I was six years old. That lifelong drive led to a bachelor's degree in English.I write primarily for women seeking thoughtful, faith-rooted reflections that feel both literary and deeply personal—writing that honors honest questions, embodied faith, and the sacredness of ordinary life. My essays are shaped by a love for story, theology, psychology, and contemplative living, and I strive to create work that is both emotionally resonant and spiritually grounding. My work has appeared in publications including Grit & Grace Life, The Way Back Journal, God & Nature and other faith-centered literary spaces. I am also the author of the memoir-in-essays A Dream Fulfilled Life and the contemplative collection Echoes of Eden.

Kaitlyn the counselor and educational therapist...I’m a Christian counselor, educational therapist, and instructional coach with a background in psychology, literacy intervention, and online education. My work is rooted in the belief that growth happens best when people feel both deeply supported and genuinely understood—emotionally, spiritually, and practically.I specialize in working with women navigating anxiety, burnout, neurodivergence, identity struggles, life transitions, chronic illness, and attachment wounds. My counseling approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and integrative, blending emotional support with practical guidance and faith-based reflection when desired by the client. I aim to create a space that is calm, honest, and free from pressure—a place where clients can process their experiences while moving toward greater clarity, healing, and alignment. In addition to counseling, I provide educational therapy and consultation services for children and adolescents with dyslexia and other reading challenges. My professional background includes work as an early childhood teacher, reading interventionist, special education teacher, instructional coach, and homeschool educator. I hold certifications in structured literacy and Orton-Gillingham–based instruction and am passionate about helping struggling learners rebuild confidence alongside skills.I earned my M.S. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Online Instruction and have additional graduate training in pastoral counseling. Across both counseling and educational work, I am especially interested in the connections between learning, identity, emotional well-being, and spiritual formation. At the heart of my work is a simple goal: to help people grow faithfully, thoughtfully, and sustainably—cultivating lives marked not by perfection, but by rootedness, wisdom, and grace.

Kaitlyn the human...At the end of the day, I’m simply a wife, mother, and daughter of God trying to live a meaningful life. I’m happiest in quiet spaces—curled up with a book, walking outdoors, drinking coffee while brainstorming new ideas, or having long conversations about faith, psychology, creativity, and what it means to flourish as a human being. My life has been shaped by military moves, chronic illness, motherhood, neurodivergence, seasons of burnout, and the ongoing process of learning how to live more gently and intentionally. Those experiences have made me both reflective and resilient, and they continue to shape the way I approach my work, relationships, and creative life. When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading creative nonfiction, studying theology or psychology, working on a writing project, spending time with my family, or dreaming up far too many future ideas at once.

It blends evidence-based intervention with a supportive, relationship-centered approach that helps students build both skills and confidence. At Inner Garden Counseling, educational therapy is designed to support the whole learner — not just academic performance. Sessions focus on identifying learning breakdowns, reducing frustration, and helping students develop practical strategies for long-term growth.

Educational therapy differs from tutoring in that it addresses underlying learning processes, emotional barriers, and skill development rather than simply helping students complete assignments or improve grades.
